During the 1970s Swindon changed the badge to what became known as the “ST arrow” or “traffic sign” badge.
This was circular badge and had the letters ‘S’ and ‘T’ interlocked, with both ends of the letter ‘S’ being made into an arrow. Also shown was a simple football and the club name.
